No matter how hard Hespa tried, Business Studies completely defeated her. She shunned party invitations galore, ignored phone calls, just to cram in as much studying as she could.
So, it was with trepidation that she went to the first part of her final exams.
She tanked ... big time.
Maybe the second part will be a bit better?
Gutted, she decided to retreat to the dorm to maybe grab a snack ... and cram some more before the next session.
She didn't get far when she saw smoke billowing from the vicinity of the dorm's kitchen area. Grabbing her phone, she dialled the fire service.
"Just hold on, we'll be there as soon as we can."
She ignored them as she saw the flames getting bigger and bigger.
Grabbing a fire extinguisher, she ran full pelt into the midst of the fire and started putting it out.
But exhaustion got the better of her, and she tried to step away from the flames.
"Gosh, I'm so tired," she exclaimed, "need coffee ... lots of coffee. Can't miss this last exam."
Too late.
There was an almighty fireball that engulfed her and another student, as everyone else hopped up and down and screamed, helpless to save either of them.
How did I know that Hespa had died?
A single red plumbob, just dangling in the air ... and no Sim below it.
Just a little pile of ashes.
Even the poor firefighter couldn't save either of them, the fire was far too intense. He even suggested letting it burn itself out.
By now, it was too late.
When Grimmy arrived, two students were passed out cold on the floor. He was rather bemused at this.
I'm here to harvest souls ... exactly HOW many are there?
The plantSim was too concerned about his leaves being scorched to worry about who had died.
Asshole.
The one that started the fire ... HA - just desserts I tell ya ... was the first one to die, and the first one to have her soul harvested as everyone watched. Yep, she begged for her life, but Grimmy turned a deaf ear and told her straight that she shouldn't have been playing with fire in the first place.
And then it was Hespa's turn.
She partially begged, but decided that it was easier to just go with the flow. Apart from her family back home ... she'd just about had enough of life. She sucked at pretty much everything really.
It was time to say goodbye.
Farewell Hespa, we will miss you with your gorgeous blue/purple hair and sweet disposition. Nessa is going to be devastated.

Disaster in the Dorm

Lectures By Mr Egg
Hespa was up bright and early to impress her lecturer. So keen was she on getting good marks, that she started multitasking.
Making toast, whilst working on her mock business plan - whatever that was.
She couldn't, really couldn't take her lectures seriously when her professor turned up wearing an Egg tee shirt.
Would you?
Anyways, she really struggled through her coursework and her first set of finals was fast approaching. There was only one thing to do.
Work on her presentation.
She took what she needed to the library and set everything up. Here, she tried her hardest to impress other students as she flustered through her carefully rehearsed speech.
Some were vaguely interested, others just walked past.
She was glad - in a way - that the library was almost empty.

Bagels ... Dating Websites ... And Hespa's Dark Side
Excited ... and nervous ... Hespa was dropped off at campus and headed straight for the dorm that Nessa and the rest of the family had used when they went to university.
At least the weather was a lot better than back home.
But then ... something really strange happens to Hespa. Something I'd never witnessed before. She immediately went into the dorm's computer and started putting her details into a dating website!
... and instantly has a crush on another dormie at the same time!!!
Hespa! What about your bestie back home? What's Nessa going to say about this?
Hespa: It's none of her business. Besides, I want to broaden my horizons a little, that's all. Isn't that what college is all about?
It seems that our shy little IF doll, is determined to lead a double life here!
Reluctantly, she attends the 'Meet and Greet' and runs straight to another computer to check on her profile.
Nothing ... so far.
But unfortunately, whilst she was typing away, suddenly the computer goes on the fritz, smoke billowing out of the monitor.
Hespa: DAMNED STUPID BLOODY THING!
Cursing, and feeling guilty at the same time, she decides to fix it there and then. Because she didn't want to go through the whole cost process.
Not on the first day.
It was thirsty work, and she hadn't eaten all day thanks to the long journey, so she decided to order something from the barista...
... and picked out a bagel ... for a change.
It sufficed for now, but the day was closing in ... and she needed to get to bed for class the next day. So she headed back to the dorm.

Hespa Ventures Out On Her Own
First of all, here's a gratuitous picture of the deceased Austin Powers, making himself at home in the lovely little turret room on the third floor. He had an obsession with that rocking chair, and it spooked practically everyone else in the house, so I decided to build him this little nook.
Anyways, going back to the present (and catching up on 6 months' absence from Simplay), I decided to check in on our little group.
Despite Hespa being painfully shy and feeling awkward around strangers, she wished longingly to go to university. After all, her LTW was to have 5 degrees under her belt. Now that was a challenge I was happy to explore (besides, who said that the Wishacy was heir/heiress exclusive?)
Sophie caught her checking her phone, looking at some courses that she fancied.
Sophie: Hope you're going to tell Nessa
Hespa: Oh, she'll be fine with it.
Sophie: I hope so.
Dragon Valley was in the throes of one of its worst winters on record ... ever since record-keeping began the last couple of hundred years ago. And despite the new technology of keeping homes warmer, Hespa couldn't help feeling that she needed to be somewhere a lot warmer. Many times spent in doll form, soggy wet and damp for weeks taught her that one.
Besides, apart from Nessa - who was constantly busy with her singing career now - nothing was keeping Hespa at home any more.
She submitted her application and kept checking the mail on a daily basis, half hoping half wishing she hadn't done this.
Until finally, she was accepted. There had been a bit of a disaster in the university administration concerning the applications. Some students had duplicated their applications and had ended up with two sets of courses, which confused the poor administrators. They mistakenly thought that all classes had been filled.
After a little juggling around, they managed to find a place in Business Studies for Hespa. It wasn't her first choice, but at least she was on her way there!
Nessa was surprised to see a familiar moving van pulling up outside their home. In all the excitement, Hespa had clearly forgotten to tell her bestest friend.
Until now.
With suitcase in hand, she sheepishly told Nessa of her plans. Nessa wasn't too pleased about this, but she couldn't be angry with Hespa. She'd been there through some of the roughest times, when nobody else could be.
Nessa: Um, well ... good luck ... and try not to party too hard.
Hespa threw her a withering glare.
Hespa: Really? You think I'd be out there partying?
She gave a low chuckle before hopping into the van. She turns to see everyone waving her off. Only Nessa stood there, her hands limply at her sides. A small frown on her face.
Nessa: *whispers* Bye ... missing you already ... don't forget to call me.
Even their mother picked up on Nessa's mood.
Shannon: Nessa, she'll be fine.
Nessa: I hope so.

Baby Bumps, Dates, Snowmen and Merfolk, All in a Day's Work!
Sophie is really blooming there with her rapidly growing baby bump. She waddles around the house, feeling a little put out because she's been told she MUST have bed rest. But you know these Powers girls? They never listen.
Hespa gets a phone call from out of the blue. A Sim was so taken with her that he really wanted to go out on a date! Intrigued, she decided to go....
... only to discover that this was an ELDER Sim with a serious bladder problem.
Not only that, she was getting the hairy eyeball from a werewolf who was also smitten by her.
Eeps.
Bored with hanging around the house, Sophie took herself off to the park, where she met Aunt Teagan and promptly told her about having a baby. Teagan managed to raise a kinda/sorta smile. Babies just aren't her thing.
There was another reason why Sophie was in the park. Her sister was there, and doing a much better job of her singing career earning tips despite the plummeting temperatures.
Hannah was there too. But poor Sophie's pregnancy hormones went into overdrive and she suddenly took a shine to a blue skinned merman standing in front of her. Oh, hell, no. No way. You've earned the Eternally Faithful reward. You are not going to jeopardize that at all. Not on my watch sister.
Beating a hasty retreat from her admirers, Hespa headed for the park too, where she made friends with a stray dog. Getting it's trust, she fed it some treats.... to which it promptly threw back up!
Determined not to get these two - Sophie and the merman - romantically involved, I decided to make her talk to him and reminisce about university. It impressed him no end!
Then they changed topics. He was hoping to achieve the Scarlet Feather Book Awards .... when he could sit down long enough to write something .... whilst Sophie talked about all the educational toys that she and Drea had planned to buy for their baby. Hannah was happy that the moon was still out and energizing her.
It was then that Sophie decided that she wanted to build a snowman.
Are you sure you're supposed to do that? You are close to term you know.
Sophie: Oh, I'll be fine. It's just a bit of snow, that's all.
She completed the snowman without much drama, when that stray dog started hanging around her. Once again, she offered treats ... and once again, it puked them back up!
And that's when baby decided it would arrive....
Right.
Now!
Sophie: Bugger. I'll never see Paris now.

After The Party
We see the newlyweds in a rare moment together. Drea needed to work on his Athletic skill - and work off those Snowflake Day pounds, whilst Sophie sat quietly reading.
Drea: Are you watching?
Sophie: In a minute, just one more page.
Drea: You said that five minutes ago. What are you reading?
She smiled sweetly.
Sophie: Guess.
She flipped the book up to reveal the title. Drea grinned broadly.
Yep. She's pregnant! She's been given time off work to put up her feet and enjoy her pregnancy. And she does so with great finesse!
Upstairs, Shannon is really really pleased at being a grandma to be, so she decides to paint a large picture - for herself ... but mainly for the baby. Hespa, still feeling awkward around her adopted family, feels more comfortable chatting online instead! At least there shouldn't be another fire. Hespa successfully upgraded it to being fireproof!
Considering that they have a butler, she is one lazy lazy Sim. The table is still full of all the food from the party and the fridge is leaking a green mist that can only tell us that the food is off in there too!
And where is she during this time?
In bed. Dreaming of teddy bears!
Nessa, isn't happy with the state of the bedroom. The floor is still filthy from the fire, and they've moved everything as a big hint to the butler to get her butt into gear and clean it up. But nothing's come of it yet.
So, Nessa, under great duress and a lot of grumbling, decides to clean up the laundry.
Nessa: we're paying someone to supposedly do this ... and I'm the one having to clean up!
She was even less pleased when she saw the state of the dining room.
Nessa: Something's got to be done about the butler. This .... is ridiculous.
Although, being a Slob, the mess didn't really bother Drea all that much, when he grabbed a plate of leftovers. It seems that his best laid plans of keeping fit and eating healthy, went right out of the window!
It was his first day at work and his attire was ... unorthodox to say the least. plus, he managed to magically grow his hair too!
Oh here's another piccie of WIP with the property. I was tired of seeing the portal standing there in the front garden so I built a carport and placed it on the top. It can still be accessed via a ladder.
Stay tuned for more....
