Nessa to the Rescue/Iona's Birthday

Nessa was way behind her sister in the Singing Career ladder. So she decided, bright and early, to head down to the park to watch the latest Sim Fest. Her timing couldn't have come at a worse moment.

It was Iona's birthday, and Andrea, despite his exhaustion from the abduction ... and his daughter's ability to stay awake at unearthly hours ... decided that he wanted to throw her a party.

Blearily eyed, he arranged everything, inviting family only because he hardly knew anybody else. He even organised a special seating area, should the weather remain favourable.

Yes, it's a little crude, but we can work on that a little later on.

And then he had to go to work, dragging his heels along as he went. He rolled a wish to quit his job - as did Sophie. But, kiddo, you are going to HAVE to work. This is your LTW we're talking about. I'm not putting you back to square one. Not now. Andrea, well, we can work on that. Find something that you might enjoy that little bit more. Being in the Criminal Career can be a little taxing on someone who wants to be an Ark Builder.

Anyways, the day passed rather slowly. Sophie managed to catch up on her sleep, which put her in a better mood to help her daughter transition on her birthday. Nessa was still at the Sim Fest and loving/hating the acts that were there simultaneously. Shannon and Andrea were at work.

So it was up to her to bring Iona to the cake. At least the weather had stayed fine.

However, Iona wasn't. She had just pooped and was stinky. Talk about timing.

Screaming and squalling, she wriggled in her mother's arms, just as Sophie was blowing out the candles. Her head pounded at the kid's yelling, so she immediately put her down on the floor and stepped back. Hopefully the transition would calm her daughter down.

After what appeared a lengthy wait - Sophie's stomach growled with hunger - Iona finally morphed into the cutest little toddler ever.

But wait.

She wasn't finished just yet. Pink sparkles surrounded her ... and out popped a beautiful pair of wings!!

She was complete ... but far from happy. She was hungry, dirty and needed attention .... STAT.

Sophie was hungry ... and ignored her daughter to grab a slice of cake. Even poor Pat is getting a headache here.

Even her mother complained about Iona making a racket.

Shannon: Can't you quieten that kid down?
Sophie: Sorry mom, I've tried.

Poor Sophie. You've got to admit though Sophie, your parenting skills ARE a bit naff.

Luckily, Auntie Nessa arrived just in time to take over. Grabbing her niece, she expertly changed her diaper there and then without blinking. You can tell that Iona worships the ground Nessa stands on already. This is where she feels the safest.

And handed her a bottle of formula, whilst she helped herself to some cake.

"Nicely handled there sis," Sophie remarked, "she was getting a bit too much for me to handle."

Nessa just shrugged her shoulders and crammed the cake into her mouth.

Iona whimpered. Now she was starting to get tired and wanted some sleep. As Nessa was still eating, Sophie scooped up her daughter, played 'claw' with her, before taking her up to bed.

The guests had a mixed response to the party. Some left early saying it was MEH, others had a fairly nice time but had to go because of other duties.

I'll write a bio of Iona as soon as I get more details.

Generation Two: Chapter Fourteen - Birthdays, Celebrations And Other Whatnot

It was coming up to birthday time. Shannon completely forgot to organise a party for the girls and Sophie desperately wanted to redeem herself by doing her homework.

Whatchadoing?
Homework
Boring
I need to do it, get my grades up.
Bit late for that dontcha think?

I just do, so leave me be
BOOOOOOORING! There's a yummy gooey cake, just sitting there waiting for us.
You don't eat cake.
I can pretend can't I?
Pat ... go. away, I'm busy.
I might just do that.
Fine.
Good.
Say, wonder if Andrea is about. Haven't seen him in a couple of weeks. He's been to Al Simhara on vacation. Think I should invite him over? Be nice to see him.
Whatever.
Pat, you are useless.

What. Is.That?
Oh, Sonny Em, it's a birthday cake.
Why is it here?
We have birthdays today. It's our chance to transition to the next stage in our lives.
Oh, like, move up to the next level?
That's right, hang on, I'd better call Andrea, see if he's busy.

It just so happened that he'd arrived back home around about an hour or so ago and was feeling refreshed and happy to see Sophie, so he agreed to come over.

What he didn't realise was, Sophie had researched his background and discovered that during his vacation, he'd had a birthday, but hadn't transitioned. His family were waiting until they'd gotten back home. So Sophie saved them the task and expense of throwing a birthday party.

Being the good sport that she is, she let him blow out the candles. Everyone gathered around and cheered as he transitioned into quite a handsome chappie.

Andrea: Oh wow, this is awesome, you shouldn't have.
Sophie: Just blow out the candles and make a wish

Then it was her turn. Whilst Andrea crammed his face with cake, Sophie made her wish and blew out the candles.

Sophie: I should get used to these sparkles, but somehow I can't.

Vanessa: Oh man, I forgot, I've got to go through this too.

She turned out fairly fine, maybe a little makeover later on to get rid of that severe ponytail. But all in all, Austin, you've turned out some really pretty looking Sims.

According to the game, because of her 'indifferent study patterns' I wasn't allowed to choose a trait, so the game chose for me and Sophie got the Handy trait. O-kay. She also rolled a wish to join the Singer career. Sounds good to me, shame her mother Shannon, wished to see her become a World Class Surgeon, and Vanessa to be a Superstar Athlete (or whatever the top of the career is in Simland). She has to live with the fact that both daughters want to be singers.

Just before Vanessa transitioned, Sophie and Andrea sat quietly together, eating more cake and discussing future plans.

Sooo, any plans of moving in the future?

Gah, not this again *roll eyes*

Hmm, maybe he's not the right person for you after all Sophie. He sounds too high maintenance for my liking. And I'm starting to regret aging him up now.

Vanessa chose to transition without the help of a cake and turned into a really outstandingly gorgeous Sim. It seems a shame not to choose her as the heir, but the public have spoken and Sophie it is to carry the Powers torch!

Crowd in general: Go Nessa Go Nessa Go Nessa

At the same time, both Pat and Hespa transition too, only in the eyes of Sophie and Vanessa, much to the annoyance of Sophie.

Andrea: I've grown up!
Pat: I'm sparkling, that's not good.

Crowd in general: There's sparkling in the room, did anybody set off any indoor fireworks?

Sophie:Gah, why does HE have to transition? You know he's going to keep me awake ALL NIGHT and I'm TIRED!!!!
Pat: Oh Goody!!

Chapter Forty - A Double Celebration

Austin was organising a birthday party for William, hence the phone call. Perhaps a gathering of all their friends would cheer Shannon up somehow.

He went to work, in the worst blizzards that Dragon Valley had ever known, and came home to tell us all the good news. He'd just reached his Lifetime Wish.

From now on, he is to be known as Austin Powers International Super Spy..... has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Nice suit by the way!!

He needed to recharge his batteries before the celebrations, and took a nap on the settee, just as the guests were arriving!!!

During the celebrations, Shannon vanished upstairs.
Now we know why she's been moody lately.
She's pregnant again!!!
Either that, or she's been eating rotten leftovers from the fridge once more!!!

Looks as though one of our guests is looking a little worried.

And for good reason too.
It appears that someone else is trying the old 'shove a plate through the torso' act.

Austin collected William from his crib and brought him downstairs to help blow out the candles, whilst everyone gathered.

Crypto preferred to commandeer the settee for a little brain regeneration!

With a sprinkle and a POOF!! Gone goes the cocoon baby, and here comes little toddler William.

Altogether now....

AWWWWWW

He's got his dad's dark eyes and skintone, but the rest of him is all Shannon's. From the pink fairy wings to the facial features.

Here's a little more info about William.

Star Sign : Virgo
Likes:
Music: Beach party
Colour: Sea Foam
Food: French Toast.

Lifetime Wish not yet recognised since he's still a bit too young to wish for anything so grandiose at the moment.

And he's got his dad wrapped around his chubby little finger LOL

All he's got to do is yell, and Austin makes sure he gets what he wants.

Oh by the way, it just so happened to be a Full Moon. So this party ended up with a few zombies enjoying the festivities at the same time!!!
