Sketching Outdoors In Your Undies!

Winter finally released it's death grip and allowed Spring to arrive. The snows melted and the weather improved slightly. It was a time of 'renewal' and Sophie renewed her efforts to complete her degree - no matter what.

Even if it meant sketching outdoors in her undies! Sophie? Really? Just because you got a brand new set of lingerie, doesn't mean you should show it off in public!

Oh well.

She attended classes - followed by Paparazzi! Obviously she's learned to ignore them now. Which is good because not long afterwards, when she was busy cleaning up the mess that her dormies had left.

.... dirty lazy swines!

.... a false accusation circulated about her rifling through peoples' trash!
Really? She's been cleaning up after this lot!

She couldn't go to the Town Hall back home to plead her case, so she had to hold her head up high and ignore the vicious whispering around her.

Fed up with the gossipmongers, she fished around her backpack and found some fireworks. Her mood was low to begin with, especially after having to clean up the messes the other dormies had left. She decided to set this one particular candle alight.

Despite it's lacklustre fizzle and pop, it raised her spirits a little. She needed a boost because her finals were almost upon her.

Good luck Sophie, we're counting on you.

Back Home - Nothing's Changed

It was pitch dark when Sophie finally arrived home, tired, and hungry. She was surprised that Nessa was using the tent as sleeping quarters. She claimed it was because she 'wanted to get in touch with nature'. Okay.
Boney took to the hopscotch game and has been stuck ever since, the dirty plates and laundry piling up indoors, the newspapers outside.

Waiting for her was her beloved Pat. She could tell, not by the stitched up face - ALL IF dolls had that same expression - but by the hostile aura Pat was giving out, that he disapproved of her leaving him behind. She did not want to face him. Not just yet. So she went to bed. It felt strange, sleeping in a room that she used to share with her sister. Now, since she'd spent time at college - away from her family - she realised that she's grown up. Maybe not a great deal, but enough to know that she didn't perhaps need to be physically and emotionally attached to Nessa. After all, she was part fairy - by how much, she wasn't sure - Nessa was fully human.

Downstairs, Sonny Em tried and failed - yet again - to woo poor rusty old Blaine (who hadn't changed one bit). By now, he was seriously creeped out by her unwanted advances and told her straight that he wasn't interested.

Ouch.

J1NX1E, in the meantime, pretended to play darts, but was listening to all that was going on. She just needed to bide her time, then when the moment was right, she'd POUNCE! Obviously, she calculated - correctly - that he felt a little intimidated by the two of them. Advanced Plumbots, from the future, with technology he couldn't comprehend. Whilst he simply got by with an oil can and some scrap metal. What was exceptionally galling though, was the fact that they could swim in water! In Blaine's case, he just needed to be caught in a downpour and he's conk out for a few hours.

Anyways, getting back to Sophie. She slept soundly, but before her head hit the pillow, she promised herself to ask her mother about Question 6 - whatever that was.

Sadly, she didn't get the opportunity. Feeling peckish, she headed for the kitchen and was instantly confronted by Pat

Pat: So? Did you miss me?
Sophie: Pat, not now
Pat: Didja? I bet you did. I hope you did. You'd better have.

He was relentless. He wouldn't stop until he got an answer out of her. Her head started aching, she was feeling light headed. She needed something in her stomach before she fainted. And with Pat bugging her consistently, wherever she went, there was no way she was going to have any peace. But then it struck her. The one place where he couldn't follow her.

The fairy castle.

He couldn't change into a sprite. All he could do was to change back into his toy form and sit sentinel style outside the miniature castle, whilst she lived it up and got drunk out of her skull on pollen punch.  Yeah, she was turning into a pollen addict - all thanks to her IF doll Pat. She could do one of two things, and neither one appealed to her.

Downstairs, Blaine was scratching, scraping and hammering away. He was a quarter of the way through achieving one of his wishes - to build a time machine! Yep you heard correctly. Only this one can travel back AND forward in time, unlike the time portal that was still fizzling outside. That one focused on the future and the present.

But then the alarm went off and he had to rush to put out a large house fire.

Outside, Sophie could hear Nessa giggling, and the sound of splashing, as she played water balloons ... with her IF friend Hespa.

Sophie sighed heavily and wished that she had the same happy relationship with Pat. But the minute she stepped out of the fairy castle, he was there, once again.

Pat: You didn't answer my questions.
Sophie: Pat, not now, I need to speak to mom.
Pat: She's busy.
Sophie: What?
Pat: As I said, she's busy, go look for yourself

Sure enough, here was Shannon, standing in her underwear, chatting to the local paparazzi. The woman looked eager and happy to be getting any attention. But her attitude changed when Shannon decided to turn the tables and start asking HER questions.

Paparazzi: I .... I gotta go
Shannon: But .... I need to file all my reports ..... *mutters* grrr, being a cop sucks sometimes.

Looking at her watch, Nessa suddenly squeaked.

Vanessa: Oh crap, I'm late for work!

Yep, she and Sophie still had their old part time jobs. Whilst Sophie mused about changing her career, her sister seemed quite content to stay as she was ... for now. It was late by the time Blaine got back from his emergency. He managed to save two people from the fire, but, whilst he was busy putting out the flames, one of them foolishly wandered back indoors and was overcome with smoke inhalation.

He didn't have time to send the guy back out and left him, so he wasn't sure if this idiot had recovered or not. He feared the worst.

Moping about, and pretending that Pat didn't exist, Sophie heard an almighty scuffle outside. Peering out of the window, she was faced with Sonny Em  having a fight with an evil chicken!

When the hell did they get a chicken coop, she wondered, as she watched the fighting. And decided it wasn't for her, she'd rather stay away. Besides, having those two Plumbots around was useful. At least bee stings and chicken pecks bounced off their metal armour.

And then Nessa suddenly announces that she wants to go to college.

Nessa: But I won't go unless you go
Sophie: Fair enough

It gave Sophie the opportunity to return and grill Professor Anthony once and for all.

Sophie: You'll need to fill in the aptitude test, see if you qualify for any extra funding.
Nessa: And what if I don't?
Sophie: Don't worry about that, I've been saving up too, we'll get you through this.

Sure enough, Nessa didn't qualify. But she still chose Phys Ed for her major, whilst Sophie went back to her Fine Arts degree.

If she couldn't get any answers at home, she sure would find some back in university! And she'd have some peace and quiet away from Pat!

Generation Two: Chapter Thirteen - I'm a Little Strapped For Cash

A short update folks because I've got a biggie coming up and I don't want to split the pics up if I can help it.

Night time, a time when the house should be asleep, and a quietness should be observed.
The twins are fast asleep, for what will probably be their last day as teens. For tomorrow brings their birthdays and a whole heap of new adventures.

On the floor nearby, their IF dolls sit waiting ... and hoping that they will still be part of the twins' lives too.

Downstairs in the basement, however, there's a totally different scene as poor Blaine is subjected to even MORE attention from the Plumbots. This time it's the turn of Sonny Em. She badgers him, asking him all kinds of awkward questions before deciding to put on a special one on one comedy act, just for him.

He is less than impressed and retires to the sanctuary of his own special bed.

Maybe if I sneak away quietly, it'll get the message and stop talking.
.... and so the rivet got caught in a sticky situation .... oh come ON it's FUNNY ... right?????

Sonny Em just shrugs and decides to entertain herself by playing the electronic dartboard, whilst J1NX1E continues doing the laundry and cleaning the puddle left by the leaky, broken combo shower/toilet/bathroom thingy.

The next day dawns and everybody is up and ready for school/work, leaving J1NX1E and Sonny Em home alone.

I'm not convinced here that they won't get into any kind of mischief. After all, they're out of their comfort zone and straight into a colourful world, miles apart from the clinical atmosphere that is Oasis Landing.

Minutes before the school bus arrives, Vanessa is approached by Hespa.

Can you spare a few Simoleans Ness? I'm a little strapped for cash.

Seriously? What could a doll possibly want with money? Really?

Her Good trait kicks in and she dutifully hands Hespa a handful of coins before heading off to school.

Hours pass and J1NX1E is getting bored. She attacks the water slide whilst Sonny Em is still fixated by the dartboard.

And then she does the unthinkable.

Starts stealing power from the washing machine!!!

Oh J1NX1E.

Shannon in the meantime is hoping for a promotion at work, but failed yet again to hand in any new reports that'll help her along. Just as she's leaving, she hears the siren of the fire engine screaming past. Yet another disaster for Blaine to tackle.

At the same time, she is getting some attention. A fairy paparazzi called Denver Barfield who thinks she's pretty hot. However, just as she started to approach him, shyness suddenly took over and he bolted!

Next update: Birthdays galore!!!

Generation Two - Chapter Six: Meet J1NX1E

After a rough nights' sleep, Shannon awoke to find herself feeling a little yucky and smelly. Well.... a LOT smelly actually. So she decided to try out the sonic shower. It didn't work out for her.

How the heck do these folks deal with this technology? It's giving me a splitting headache!

The quarters that she'd chosen - at the community centre - had a bedroom, bathroom and a small lobby area. As she was passing through the lobby, she heard a small crying noise and looking down, she spotted a little virtua-fox thingy. It was distressed and hungry.

She couldn't resist it, she HAD to pick it up.

Hello there young fella, feeling a little lonely?
E3E3WWWWE3E3WWWWEEEEO0O0O0
Hmm, how do you work these things?

Pressing a button, it gave her instructions on how to maintain this cute little thing and proceeded to clean in, talk to it and thankfully after her experimentation at the Robotics workshop, she had some nanites left over so she fed it. It shut up after that.

Wonder if I'm allowed to bring you back home with me? Sophie would LOVE this. I know she would. I feel so bad for giving her a hard time lately. It'd be nice to bring her something back at least. Besides, it's pink, her favourite colour.

Emit was nowhere to be seen, so she slipped it into her backpack and hoped that what she was doing wasn't illegal and that she wasn't going to be arrested for stealing or something much much worse!!!

After breakfast - which consisted of long life synthesised lasagne - seriously, this stuff was brought out of the replicator well over 24 hours ago and it STILL maintained it's 'freshness'. No green haze or horrid smells.

Shannon then decided that since she was going to be here for a little while - she only had fleeting wishes to return home - she'd become a Freelance Painter to earn her keep and have some extra pennies in her pocket.

Setting up the digital easel was pretty straightforward since she'd boosted her Advanced Technology skill when she fed and talked to that virtua fox. She even attracted the attention of a passing plumbob paparazzi. Already she was getting attention here in Oasis Landing.

However, the sky started darkening in, and that meant that even in the future, there was always a risk of rain. So she gave up painting and decided to return to the Robotics workshop to try her luck at creating a Plumbot of her very own. She thought about Blaine and how he was high maintenance, and wondered if there was a chance that a Plumbot from the future might add some 'spark' into Blaine's mundane, routine life.

After a few fits and starts, and nanites crawling all over (and under) her skin, Shannon managed to make enough to start the plumbot process.

With a hiss, the doors swept open from the egg shaped machine......

.... to reveal......

J1NX1E.

A delightful combination of silvers, pinks and greens!

Shannon discovered, however, that J1NX1E was a simple bot with no personalities or any traits fitted in her memory chip. So, apart from upgrading and maintaining her, J1NX1E was worse than useless. So Shannon left her to her own devices whilst she continued working on more nanites.

J1NX1E, in the meantime, proved NOT to be as boring as Shannon had portrayed. She had a childlike curiosity that led her to standing on more than one occasion, admiring a prototype bot that was on display ready to be sold.

HMMM, T1TAN1UM ALL0Y, 1NT3R3ST1NG

She also proved more than her worth when, after a long day, she and Shannon went back to the community centre. Shannon fell fast asleep with no bad dreams this time, only to be accosted by TWO plumbob paps who took it upon themselves to stand and stare at Shannon.

J1NX1E stepped forward and challenged them to leave.

PL3A53 L3AV3

They did, with great reluctance, but at least Shannon had herself a little bodyguard that she herself had created.

Whilst at the Robotics workshop, I happened to espy a familiar figure - or so I thought.
Atom Beaker.

And wondered if he was related to the Beakers from Sims 2, especially the infamous Loki Beaker
And yep, he sure is, Evil and all, like father like son ..... especially when he gave out the most evil of cackles right there and then.

Thankfully Shannon didn't roll a wish to meet and greet him. As goodness knows WHAT would have happened there!!!!
